      Camino Madrid

Aqueduct of Segovia and Plaza de la Artillería
The Camino Madrid begins at the Plazuela de Santigo in Madrid and joins the Camino Francés at Sahagún.
The Camino Madrid can be very arduous, particularly the segment from Madrid to Segovia, which has many long legs and passes through the Sierra de Guadarrama. One leg is over 28km, with over 600m ascent and descent. If you are below normal fitness, consider starting in Segovia.
The Camino Madrid joins the Camino Frances at Sahagún, at the Santuario de la Virgen Peregrina. If you wish to travel the full distance to Santiago de Compostella, switch to the Camino Frances at this point.
